How to use this calculator

  1. Enter your real turnover costWhat you actually pay per clean — cleaner, laundry, and restocking. Use your average, not a one-off quote.
  2. Pick a markup0% passes the cost straight through. A small markup builds a cushion for supply price creep.
  3. Check the all-in priceLook at the table to see how the fee lands on a 1- vs 7-night stay, then decide if you should shift cost into the nightly rate.

FAQ

How much should I charge for a cleaning fee?

At minimum, enough to cover your actual turnover cost. Many hosts pass through 100% of it. Charging less eats your nightly margin; charging far more hurts conversion on short stays because guests see the all-in price.

Does a high cleaning fee hurt bookings?

Mostly on short stays. A $150 fee adds $75/night to a 2-night stay but only ~$21/night across 7 nights. Airbnb shows the total price including cleaning, so a fee that's fine for a week can make a 1–2 night booking look pricey.

Should I build cleaning into the nightly rate instead?

Some hosts set a low/zero fee and raise the nightly rate to help ranking and conversion. The trade-off: long stays overpay for a single turnover. Use the stay-length table above to find the right split for your typical guest.

What counts as turnover cost?

Cleaner pay, laundry, consumables and restocking, and any per-turn supplies. Use your real average.
